Veteran Kannada actor Leelavathi has passed away.

Veteran Kannada actor Leelavathi: Beloved actress Leelavathi passed away today at a Nelamangala hospital at the age of 85 after battling an illness. Her son, Vinod Raj, who is also an actor, mourns her loss.

Leelavathi started her acting journey with the movie “Nagakannike,” playing the role of Sakhi. She went on to star in nearly 600 movies in different South Indian languages. CM Siddaramaiah visited her at home to check on her health, and in November, actors Arjun Sarja, Shivarajkumar, Abishek, and Darshan also paid their respects. Tributes are pouring in on social media from the Sandalwood community and fans.

Some of her memorable movies include Nanda Deepa, Kulavadhu, Veerakesari, Sipayi Ramu, Gejje Pooje, Auto Raja, and Premaloka. Her last film was in 2009, titled Yaaradhu, where she starred alongside her son. More info about Veteran Kannada actor Leelavathi has passed away.

Apart from her acting career, Leelavathi was known for her kindness. She set up a health center in Solladevanahalli, Nelmangala Taluk, and was working on building a veterinary hospital.

In June, she helped build a hospital for animals. During the ceremony to start the project, Leelavathi said, “I wanted to do something good for animals, so I decided to create a hospital just for them.”
