Karan Johar recounted, ‘I went on a date, and the guy suggested going to the opera. He was good-looking, but as the opera went on, I just couldn’t handle it anymore, no matter how good-looking he was.’ Later, when Vicky Kaushal started singing a part from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Karan joked, ‘It reminded me of my own singing. I was belting it out.’
Showed false interest to impress
Politely, he said, ‘I have respect for opera lovers; it’s a beautiful art form, but it’s not my cup of tea.’ Karan shared how he left during the break and never saw that person again. Turning the conversation, he asked Kiara and Vicky if they ever pretended to be interested in something to impress their partners. Vicky then talked about Katrina Kaif’s love for her art.
