Kia Sonet Facelift, Booking date
If you were thinking of booking the Kia Sonet facelift this week, you can start at 12 am on December 20, 2023. You can book on the Kia website, app, or at any Kia dealership in India. The new Sonet will start reaching customers in January 2024, except for the diesel-manual versions, which will be a bit later, in February 2024. If you want it faster, Kia has brought back the ‘K-Code’ concept, but it’s only valid until 11:59 pm on December 20.
How to Book the New Sonet?
If you already own a Kia, you can generate a special K-Code for booking. Each code is for one booking but can be shared with friends or family interested in the new Sonet. The ‘K-Code’ idea started before the facelifted Seltos launch, and back then, only pre-facelift Seltos owners could use it. But now, all Kia owners can join in.
Note: The K-Code is only for bookings made on December 20.
Changes in the 2024 Kia Sonet:
The Sonet SUV got a big update, the first one since it came out in 2020. It now has a new look with a redesigned grille, sharper LED headlights, longer fang-shaped LED DRLs, sleek LED fog lamps, and new connected LED taillights.
Inside, it’s almost the same, with a few changes like a new climate control panel. It still has cool stuff like a sunroof, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, and cruise control. But now, it has a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display like the Seltos and a 4-way powered driver seat like the new Hyundai Venue.
There are new features too, like a 360-degree camera and ten advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Safety is better with six airbags (now standard), front and rear parking sensors, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and electronic stability control (ESC).
Familiar Engine-gearbox Options
The new Kia Sonet now comes with various power options, just like before. Kia also brought back the diesel-manual combo with the refresh. Let’s dive into the technical details:
Specification | 1.2-litre N.A. Petrol | 1-litre Turbo-petrol | 1.5-litre Diesel |
Power | 83 PS | 120 PS | 116 PS |
Torque | 115 Nm | 172 Nm | 250 Nm |
Transmission | 5-speed MT | 6-speed iMT, 7-speed DCT | 6-speed MT (new), 6-speed iMT, 6-speed AT |
Expected Price and Competition:
We think the new Kia Sonet will start at around Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with other cars like the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and Maruti Fronx crossover.
