Ustad Rashid Khan, a famous music maestro undergoing treatment for prostate cancer at a hospital in Kolkata, sadly passed away on Tuesday, according to the PTI news agency.

The 55-year-old musician was on a ventilator in the ICU before.

The decline in the musician’s health started with a cerebral incident last month. Khan, part of the Rampur-Sahaswan Gharana, was the great-grandson of the gharana’s founder, Inayat Hussain Khan.
