Movie Leave the World Behind hits the top spot: Left the World Behind has become the number one movie on Netflix!
This movie, a doomsday story with Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, and Kevin Bacon, was made by a company called Higher Ground Productions. That company was started by Barack Obama, the former US President, and his wife Michelle.

Based on Rumaan Alam’s book from 2020, Leave the World Behind is about a town that goes haywire when everything tech, from phones to TVs, starts acting up.
Even though it’s at the top of the Netflix charts, beating films like Family Switch and The Grinch, Leave the World Behind got mixed reviews from critics. Viewers, including Elon Musk, had very different opinions.

People on social media shared their thoughts, with many saying the movie doesn’t make sense for its long 140-minute run. One person on X/Twitter said, “Leave the World Behind is a strange, sometimes funny, sometimes silly, and overall confusing movie. It takes too long to get to the point, and when it does, the point is overly negative and not satisfying. I didn’t like it.”
“I’m watching Leave the World Behind, and that’s a mistake. I want to watch other things, and this movie is almost 2.5 hours long,” complained another viewer.
“Leave The World Behind wasn’t bad, but it definitely didn’t need to be almost 2.5 hours. Most movies don’t need to go past an hour and 50 minutes. But nobody asked me, so I’ll spare you the investment,” argued someone else.
Elon Musk got teased for complaining about a Tesla mistake in the movie.
Other movies like Family Switch, a funny one about a family swapping bodies, are also on Netflix. But Family Switch got some people upset because of a joke about a kiss.
In the movie directed by McG, a married couple switches places with their kids. The controversial part is when the kids, in their parents’ bodies, have to kiss at a party.
Both Leave the World Behind and Family Switch are ready to watch on Netflix.
