Five months after revealing the title and cast of his sixth directorial venture, actor-filmmaker Vineeth Sreenivasan joyfully announces the completion of Varshangalkku Shesham (Years Later) and shares its first poster.
Meet the new Dasan and Vijayan in Varshangalkku Shesham
The poster shows Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan standing on a stage with a big cutout of the famous Tamil actor and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MG Ramachandran (known as MGR), in the background. They seem to be pretending to be MGR by saying his lines, while a few kids are playfully joking with them in the front. The way they are dressed, their hairstyles, and the overall vibe in the picture suggest that the movie, either entirely or partly, is set in the past, which is why it’s called Years Later.
What makes the poster even cooler is that Pranav and Dhyan are the sons of famous actors Mohanlal and Sreenivasan. Whenever these two joined in movies, it was a big deal. You might remember them best as Dasan and Vijayan in the Nadodikkattu films.
Earlier today, Vineeth posted about wrapping up the filming for Varshangalkku Shesham. He shared, “At 2 am, on Dhyan’s birthday, we finished shooting Varshangalkku Shesham. I feel grateful for having a team of passionate people. This film showed me how wonderful the filmmaking process can be when everything is carefully planned. When you respect light and nature, something special happens – it gives you its magic. For me, Varshangalkku Shesham was all about realizing this once again.”
Apart from Pranav and Dhyan, the movie stars Aju Varghese, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Basil Joseph, Neeraj Madhav, Neeta Pillai, Arjun Lal, Nikhil Nair, and Shaan Rahman. Notably, Nivin Pauly and director Vineeth Sreenivasan also play key roles in Varshangalkku Shesham.
