This biographical drama, tells the true story of Shirley Chisholm (played by Regina King), the first Black woman to run for president of the United States. The film chronicles Chisholm’s life and career, from her early days as a Brooklyn teacher to her groundbreaking presidential campaign in 1972. It sheds light on her political activism, her fight for social justice, and the challenges she faced as a Black woman in a male-dominated field.
