Ana Ofelia Murguía, whose voice brought Mama Coco to life in the Oscar-winning Disney Pixar animation film ‘Coco,’ has sadly passed away at the age of 90.
Cause of death is still unknown.

She was Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, in 1933, Murguía’s artistic journey began at a young age. Drawn to the stage, she honed her craft in theater, with her dynamic presence and delicate performances. Her film and television career succeed as well, with roles in over 60 productions, including “Las Poquianchis,” “Queen of the Night,” and “Shipwrecked.”
Beyond the silver screen, Murguía was a champion for the arts and her native Mexico. A founding member of the National Theater Company of Mexico, she dedicated her life to nurturing young talent and preserving the country’s rich cultural heritage.
