This partnership is a big deal because each of these operators already has a bunch of charging spots. They’re teaming up with TPEM, which has smart insights from over 1.15 lakh Tata EVs cruising on Indian roads.

Chargezone, Glida (used to be Fortum Charge & Drive India), Statiq, and Zeon are leading the charge in the country. Together, they’ve got nearly 2,000 charging points in key cities. With this collaboration, they’re planning to add another 10,000 stations in the next 12-15 months.

In this agreement, TPEM will work with Chargezone, Glida, Statiq, and Zeon to check if they can create a smart payment system using special RFID cards. These cards will make it easy for Tata EV users to pay. On top of that, customers can get perks from loyalty programs offered by these operators and have a dedicated helpline for any help.

Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, “This teamwork will use TPEM’s special knowledge about EV use, combined with the CPOs’ clever charging solutions and entrepreneurial energy. The aim? To set up more than 10,000 extra charging spots in the country by FY25.”

Around the world, studies show that having lots of charging spots that are easy to reach is super important for EVs. More charging spots mean more people want electric cars.

This cool teamwork between major CPOs and TPEM is expected to speed up the growth of charging spots in the country. That’s a big deal for making EVs more popular.

Also, there’s an open deal with BPCL to create 7,000 chargers in the next year.
